If we stand pat and just sign Risto and Girgs the roster could look like this:

Kane-ROR-Okposo
Ennis-Eichel-Reinhart
Moulson-Girgs-Bailey?
Foligno-Larsson-Gionta
D-Lo

Kuli-Risto
McCabe-Bogo
Gorges-Franson

I don't blame GMTM at all on this one. It was a forward thinking move, he gave up a third rounder, he had plenty of them to do so. I love the boldness in going after what you want and not waiting for it to come to you. It's unfortunate that vesey didn't chose buffalo but I highly doubt he would have made or broke our season. I wish him luck but I really think players will be taking extra shots at this kid. Being the only nhl news for months everyone knows his name and feels he didn't deserve the attention yet.

that actually doesn't look half-bad if some of those players get off their arses and produce...

We'll need big years out of Moulson and Ennis for sure. I think we might see one more move by Murray before camp. Just a guess.

according to jj at the hawks blog, Chicago will probably go after hudler...the pickin's is mighty slim at lw and may not be any better than the alternatives the sabres now have

If you flop Moulson, and Foligno it might be a crazy 3rd line, at the expence of the 4th, but fun.

Murray said it was Vesey and a depth dman several weeks back. So other than finding this year's Coliacovo, I would guess they are done.

That 3rd line is weak and scares me. We need to sign one more forward and move Moulson down to the 4th line

Loving the Toronto hate, criticizing sending off a 3rd round pick (one of 5 the Sabres had, 4 when factoring in one had to be sent off without choice to Pitt).

Meanwhile, they traded a 2nd and two 4ths for 23 games of the amazing Dave Bolland. Short memories from the center of the universe.

But, you know, BUFFALO has asset management issues, not anything that happens to their own team.

How great is Plan B. The morning after pill has put my mind at ease more than once.

1. O'reilly 13. Bailey
2. Okposo 14. Fasching (most likely AHL)
3. Kane 15. Nylander (most likely AHL)
4. Moulson
5. Ennis
6. Gionta
7. Foligno
8. Larsson
9. Eichel
10. Reinhart
11. Del
12. Girgensons
13. Bailey

So here's our offense, as a numbers game someone has to leave for us to add another forward, it doesn't look like we have any roster spots left for UFA's.

So it's wise to trade a 2nd and two 4ths for a player on an expiring contract, and then just give up?

Point is, the all powerful Leafs aren't exempt from bad moves, yet Buffalo is so stupid for what they do seems to be the narrative of the bashers. Short memories for all!!

Are you seriously comparing a two time Cup winner that was traded for cap reasons and then injured 23 games into the season to a player with zero big league experience that was traded on a hopeful contract signing?
